Hi! I am Miranda Robinson, a Mississippi Photographer.

Hi! I am Miranda Robinson, the photographer behind Miranda Robinson Photography, LLC. I am so glad you are here! I would love to tell you a little about myself and my business. I would also love to answer any questions you may have.

I am an alumna of Holmes Community College, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Business Administration with a minor in English. Being a Holmes Community College student on the Goodman campus was a great experience, and I participated in lots of extracurricular activities during my time there. I was an executive officer of the Kappa Alpha chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society, represented the college as an Ambassador, was editor of the Horizons yearbook, was a member of the Growl newspaper team, was elected homecoming court sophomore maid, worked in the Trek Center, and was elected 2015 Miss Holmes Community College by the student body.

I am also an alumna of Mississippi State University, where I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in history and a minor in Latin. While at Mississippi State University I was inducted into the Gamma Nu chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, a history honors society.

Two great things happened while I was a senior at MSU: I married my best friend, and I started my photography business! My husband and I had gotten engaged the year before, when he proposed to me at a beautiful location on The Natchez Trace, after a year of dating and many years of friendship. We love being married and we spend so much of our time laughing together!

A few months later I started my photography business. I have always been an avid photographer and my photography journey started long before my business did. One of the first great photography opportunities I had was through the Mississippi 4-H program. I won competitions at Mississippi 4-H Club Congress two consecutive years, which allowed me to attend the Cooperative Business Leadership Conference each year. Both years at the conference I was selected to be a member of the Photo Corp, and was assigned with photographing the events of the week. This opportunity allowed me to gain a lot of new experience photographing people and events in fast-paced scenarios.

I have won several awards throughout the years at the Central Mississippi fair for my portraiture and macro photography. The award that I am most proud of is the Creativity Award, which I won in 2017. I no longer enter my work in the fair because the next year I was asked to take over the Photography Division. I have been the volunteer chairman in charge of the fair photography show since 2018 and I absolutely love it. Exhibitors can bring images they have taken and I enter and categorize them. The exhibits are then judged and put on display in the coliseum to be viewed during the fair.

Since starting my business, I have had many wonderful opportunities in photography and I am so thankful for each one and for all of the wonderful people who have chosen me for their portraits and events. I have gotten to photograph the sweetest and most beautiful weddings, and engagement sessions for each one. One of my favorite things about being a photographer is getting to work with couples in love.

I have taken pictures of adorable families, graduating seniors on their college campuses, and so much more, and I have loved every session and every client. I have had opportunities that I would have never dreamed of when my business first began. For example, one of my best friends asked me to photograph the birth of her son. Photographing a baby’s first breaths is an experience like no other and I am so honored to have been asked to document something so special.

I was asked recently to photograph the Little Mountain Ride, a bicycle race that begins on the historic square in Kosciusko and ends on Little Mountain on the Natchez Trace. I was so honored and had so much fun! I was able to live out one of my dreams, which was to photograph out of the sun roof of a car!

Another fun experience I had recently was attending the grand opening of The Faulkner in Jackson, Mississippi. The Faulkner is set the become Jackson’s most sought after venue for weddings and events. The grand opening was amazing and I am still so delighted that Miranda Robinson Photography, LLC was invited to attend. I would love to photograph a wedding there!

I could devote an entire blog to things I am interested in, but instead I will just list a few things here that you might be interested in, too! I love horses, and I used to ride every day. Even though I ride less frequently now, I still love going to watch rodeos and other equestrian events. One of my more recent passions is growing cacti and succulents. I have always loved plants, but only recently became so enthusiastic about them. The last interest I’ll mention is fossil collecting. I love walking creeks and other sites looking for shark’s teeth and any other prehistoric fossils.

I would love to hear from you, whether you’re a potential client, a fellow photographer, or just someone who wants to say hi! Feel free to send me a message at mirandarobinsonphotography@gmail.com. I hope you enjoy this blog and have a blessed day!
